As queer people raised in and living in a transphobic and heteronormative society, we often learn to become chameleons. Shedding pieces of ourselves to fit the expectations of the world around us, hiding parts of ourselves so deeply we lose them, or not knowing who we are in a world unable to understand and embrace us. With that in mind, this series of poems is a love letter to myself, my way of saying I can rewrite my story, move past the pain, move through the trauma, and find a deeper knowing of who I am as a queer person.

God aka All of Us
Serenity Renegade - Kade Bliss
The old ways of the world are crumbling, the new not yet fully grounded, and there is a pervasive sense of uncertainty as we dance between them. This song navigates that state of flux and plants itself firmly in a new world. It is a recollection of community, of "God"--that energy that flows through and connects all beings at all times--and of bravery and hope in the face of the unknown. Any breakthrough first requires something to break.

A creature of grief emerges from the phragmites – their changing form holding hundreds of years of death and loss. An eared grebe wander the d(r)ying mudflats – tracing the pattern of salt the only way they know how, wondering how much of a home will be left in their lifetime. A body communes with the lake – worshiping, offering, surrendering.
